Normandy Camporee

April 19-21, 2024

We managed to close the deal with our Dutch friends from the Scouting radio station. During our Normandy Camporee 2024 will we again have their presence to facilitate Scouts and Scouters to send their Message of Peace across the world. This time the event will be available for more participants. In 2022 we were stationed in the double-decker bus at D-Day museum, at the beginning of the road to Omaha campsite.

Radio Station

Messengers of Peace

The D-Day museum has again promised to help us host this activity, but this time we will operate the radio shack from a big tent so we can accommodate patrol size groups (it is Scouting after all). There will be different activities during the weekend at the radio station, one of which is also a challenge. We invite all Normandy participants to think about a peace message for Scouts in Russia and in Ukraine. Those messages will be collected beforehand (contact details will follow later) and the most inspiring messages will be selected for live broadcasting on Saturday.

We will select 5 Messages of Peace to Russian Scouts, and 5 Messages of Peace to Ukrainians Scouts and invite the Scouts who thought up this message to do the broadcasting. The broadcasted messages will be acknowledged with a certificate as proof of transmission and reception of their Message of Peace by Scouts in the other countries.
