Reception at the Airborne Museum

On Friday, April 19, 2024 we will host a reception to celebrate our successful fundraising campaign for the Normandy camporee, with exclusive access to the Airborne Museum in Sainte-Mère-Église. The Airborne Museum is located in the heart of Sainte-Mère-Église, in front of the bell tower on which the parachutist John Steele was stuck. It is the largest museum in Europe dedicated to the American paratroopers of the 82nd and 101st Airborne engaged in the context of the Normandy invasion in 1944, during the Second World War.

And it will get even bigger! In order to mark a memorable milestone, the coincidence of the 60th anniversary of the inauguration of the museum with the 80th anniversary of D-Day, the Airborne Museum has made plans of great magnitude, with a new renovation-extension project. The museum will add a whole new building exhibiting the role of gliders in the WWII. And the planning is that the new building will be opened in April 2024!

Travelling distance and time between Omaha Beach campsite and Airborne Museum: 45.6 kilometres and on a quiet road, 32 minutes.
