Meet the TAC Youth Advisory Committee

The Transatlantic Council’s Youth Advisory Committee (YAC) is giving Scouts a voice generating authenticity and strengthening the Transatlantic Council. The YAC is a service-learning and leadership development program comprised of seven outstanding youth from across the Council. These Scouts are selected to contribute to and inform the TAC Executive Board while acting as ambassadors and active Scouts in their communities.

Members collaborate to provide insights on issues that matter to Scouting youth today. They play a vital role in enhancing TAC by sharing feedback from TAC youth and advising on TAC Executive Board decisions. YAC members use their perspectives to initiate and lead projects that they believe will help TAC achieve its goal of Unparalleled Scouting.

Meetings

The YAC meets monthly from September – May and participates in Council Committee meetings. During the summer months, YAC members are active Scouts. They play an active role in summer camps in Switzerland and Croatia, staff NYLT, travel to the US to attend the National Order of the Arrow Conference and the National Advanced Youth Leadership Experience.

The team that makes up the YAC consists of active, motivated Scouts. They are eager to gather and share their insights. If you see them at a Scouting event or in an online meeting, say hello. They are the voice of the Transatlantic Council’s youth.

He was born in Fairfax, Virginia, and has lived in five different states and two countries. He loves watching the Washington Capitals, playing hockey, skiing, and doing all things scouting-related. He is deeply connected to his German heritage as he speaks the language, and has loved being closer to his Ur-Oma, and his Omi in Germany where he currently lives.

Remy

Remy is a 17 year old Eagle Scout in Troop 802G. She has been a Scout since 2019 and a member of the Order of the Arrow since 2021.Remy firmly believes that the Transatlantic Council offers an incredibly unique opportunity to Scouts living overseas and aims to amplify and expand on the voices of youth in TAC during my time in the YAC.She is currently an 11th grader in the Abitur program at the John F. Kennedy School in Berlin. In her (admittedly limited) free time, you can usually find her practicing violin, debating in Model UN, baking with friends, traveling the world, and listening to Taylor Swift. Her future aspirations include becoming part of the mounted police, a PhD in some yet-to-be-determined STEM field, learning tec diving, and traveling to Mars.
