TAC International Committee
The International Committee meets quarterly to discuss plans for promoting and improving international Scouting in the BSA. Feel free to reach out to any member of the committee with suggestions, or if you are interested in joining the committee.
Steve Sutton
Committee Chair
Hi I am Steve Sutton and currently Chair Horizon District and support the development of Sea Scouting in TAC. I have been on the International Committee for the last few years and have a lot of Experience with Scouting in Europe and the Middle East through various Scouting Organizations and I have taken on a Coordinating role for the introduction to TAC of the Duke of Edinburgh International Award as a member of the International Committee.

Mediterranean District
Based out of Naples, Italy, Jeff, TAC Council Commissioner, supervises Peace Light coordination.
James Beatty
Edelweiss District
James, a committee member since 2012, oversees international event planning. He is also a Council Venturing Officer Association Adviser and Black Eagle Lodge Associate Adviser.
Sue Blakeman
Horizon District
Sue’s Scouting history started in 2000 when her son Kristan was old enough to join beaver scouts in the United Kingdom. She worked for the Derbyshire police service where she opened a scout group in a problem area for youth with anti-social behaviors. As a volunteer, Sue took on the main role of beaver leader and currently has the role in the same group 14 years later.In 2015 she became Assistant District commissioner (beavers) for Derwent and Dove Derbyshire and in 2019 took on the main role of District commissioner and made the district the largest district in Derbyshire. Sue is an archery instructor for Derbyshire and a safety boat pilot for Derbyshire Scouts sailing unit. She attended the 24th world Jamboree as IST as an archery instructor and caught the bug for American Scouting. She also serves as Membership Chair of the Horizon District.
Lou Cumming
Mayflower District
Lou has been involved in scouting since 2014 when his oldest of two sons started Cub Scouts in the Gulf Coast Council, Florida. He was also a TAC volunteer with Cub Scout Pack 345 from 2015-2016 when he and his family were stationed at Incirlik Air Base in Adana, Turkey. While serving on the Air Force Special Operations Command, Inspector General’s staff, Lou volunteered to lead a team of 6 active duty military personnel to assist with the 2017 National Scout Jamboree, running 916 scouts through the leadership obstacle course. Prior to relocating to England in November 2022, he worked part-time at the Catalina Council where Cub Scouts grew by 13% and had a membership growth of +5 scouts.
Philipp Lehar
Philipp, a Scout since more than 30 years, served as a Scouter in Austria and as a volunteer to TAC. His first experience with American Scouts was at the World Scout Jamboree in Chile in 1998/99. Among his best Scouting experiences are joint activities of his Austrian Scout unit together with TAC Scouts. He staffed International camps in different European countries. He attended four World Scout Jamborees and is a supporter of the Kandersteg International Scout Centre. In 2022 and 2023 he helped to organize International Friendship Camps with European and American Scouts in Austria and Germany.
Jose Lepervanche
Mediterranean District
Jose has served as Scouter in Venezuela, North Florida Council, and TAC. He was a member of the NFC International Committee. He was Unit Leader in 2015 World Scout Jamboree and 2016 Blair Atholl International Scottish Jamborette. He is now TAC Sea Scouts Council Commodore. One of his functions is to establish relations with European Sea Scouts after attending Eurosea 15 European Sea Scouts Conference.
Greg Pedlow
Edelweiss District
Greg, a TAC Scouter for 27 years, is a member of the Executive Board. As a member of the committee, he is in charge of TAC’s Historical Trails program, revising existing ones and approving new ones, all while facilitating strong relationships between American and European Scouts.
Mike Walton
Transatlantic Council
Mike Walton (otherwise known to Scouters on and off the Internet as "settummanque (set-tum-man-quay), the blackeagle") has had a long and quite exciting life - in and out of Scouting. He has served as a Scouter at the Pack, Troop, Team, Post, and Ship levels; as a member of several District and Council-level operating committees; as a volunteer serving at the Territorial level, and on three National-level committees or task forces. Of note, he has participated or served on the staff of every National Jamboree since 1973 and has attended three World Jamborees.He is a Vigil Honor member of the Order of the Arrow, He earned the Arrow of Light, Eagle with five palms, the William T. Hornaday gold medal; BSA Heroism Award, the Youth Leadership in America Award; many training, service, and leadership awards, is a holder of two District Awards of Merit and the Silver Beaver Award. Transatlantic Council honored Walton with the Outstanding Eagle Scout Award. He is a Wood Badge and Sea Badge holder. . He retired from civil service in 2022, ending a 40-plus-year tenure as a part of America's military.
