Staff development Week: 13 July – 19 July 2025 (tentative)
Session 1: 20 July – 26 July 2025 (tentative)
Session 2: 27 July – 2 August 2025 (tentative)

Camp Avantura BSA is operated by the Transatlantic Council on Camp Veli Joze in Croatia right on the Adriatic Sea. We offer a full dining hall experience plus the option to tent camp or stay in cabins for both adults and youth.
This is a waterfront property therefore there are many aquatic adventures just steps from the campsite.
The dining hall is on the coast and offers wonderful views of the sea at every meal. All of our Aquatic based classes are held in the warm, clear waters of the Adriatic Sea. Book your spots as soon as possible because we have limited space for each session week.
Camperships are available for those with a financial need to attend a TAC camping program. The form is available here.

- Many traditional summer camp merit badge classes
- First Year program: ACE Program (the Accelerated Camper Experience)
- Stand up paddle boarding
- Kayaking
- Small boat sailing
- Watersports
- Motorboating
- Archery and rifle ranges
- various Arts & Sciences classes
- various Handicrafts classes
- 2024 added the potential to earn the Complete Angler Award in our Fishing Program, a whole week focused on Fishing MB, Fly Fishing MB, Fish and Wildlife Management MB and a amazing trip to a world class fly fishing destination!
BIG PLANS for 2025:
- Lifeguard Course
We had aimed to add a BSA Lifeguard certification as an option for attendees to be introduced for Summer 2025. With our national program team retiring the BSA Lifeguard course and certification, we will aim to offer a course that aligns with this intent. For those older Scouts looking to prepare themselves for a future camp staff role or giving leadership to their home unit on Aquatic adventures, an attendee can become a certified lifeguard while at camp! More info to be released by the opening of our registration portal in December.
- We will continue our successful Fishing Program, a week focused on Fishing!
