Recruiting and Registration
A new School year means new families moving into areas covered by TAC units. This results in many TAC Scouting communities have an influx of potentially new Scouts and Scouters as well as transferring families. We need to keep pushing for new recruitments and new units in September and October so that TAC Scouting can continue to grow.
TAC encourages all units to continue their recruiting efforts for new youth and adult leaders during the months of Sept and Oct. We want to use the online application for every NEW youth and adult registered. This method is quick, and efficient. Every unit has available a personalized URL they can send out to prospective new recruits and then have them sign-up to your unit directly online. Want to know where to find yours? Units can access their URL and QR codes by logging in to My.Scouting Tools and selecting Invitation Manager in the menu list. In the right corner, click on the link that says “URL”. From there you can access a link as well as your own Recruitment QR code!
Adult leaders that are local nationals will still need to be registered via paper. Only adults with a US Social Security Number can be registered through the online system. Note that all online youth applications can be approved by the unit leader. All adult leader application must be approved by the Charter Organization Representative or their designated delegate. Any NEW youth or adults should use the online registration. Once registered and approved, their membership is immediately updated to the unit roster.
Please note that Online Registration is not the same as the Online Recharter. Online registration is the registration of NEW scouts and adult scouters. Once the scouts/scouters are registered, they immediately show up on the My.Scouting roster for that unit. They are there as registered and on the roster until the unit recharters. All BSA charters expire annually on Dec 31st.
Online Rechartering
TAC’s plan for recharter is to have all units complete their online recharter action between Nov 1 through Nov 30 using the recharter feature in Internet Advancement 2.0.
The process of rechartering your unit using the recharter feature in Internet Advancement 2.0 makes recharter extremely easy and efficient. Rechartering is done from your home or office, anytime that it’s convenient for you. This system allows a unit to indicate returning members, add new members, and update information for an individual or the chartered organization. On-line rechartering ensures that unit and member information will be correct because the unit will be completing the renewal information.
Remember, growth in your unit means growth for TAC! Together, let’s make TAC even greater!
