Dear Advancement Chair,
I am writing to inform you of exactly what advancements I need to record for your scouts. Please turn in an advancement report (either BSA Form #34403B or an advancement report print out of Troop Master or Pack Master) to receive the pocket certificates. Feel free to include all your unit advancements if it suits your record keeping needs, however, the only advancements that I record at the Council level are the following:
For Cub Scouts
Tiger, Bobcat, Wolf, Bear, WEBELOS and Arrow of Light
For Boy Scouts
Scout, Tenderfoot, 2nd Class, 1st Class, Star, and Life
Eagle will be submitted on an Eagle application with a separate advancement report.
For rank advancements use one report for each Board of Review date. On 21 January, John Scout has a Board for Tenderfoot, and William Scout has a Board for Life, you can use one report, but do not include Jesse Scout who on 24 January passed his Board for First Class. You need a separate report for that (because of the signatures and date for the Board of Review)
Eagle Palms are sent in with an Advancement Report and Eagle Palm Application form.
ALL Merit Badges (these can be combined with different dates)
For Venturers
Bronze, Gold, Silver, and Ranger Awards
You will be given the pocket certificates for the above ranks after an advancement report is received. The name and address listed under “Leader” on the advancement form is where the cards will be sent.
Awards such as World Conservation can be applied for online at our website
www.tac-bsa.org/resources.htm click on awards, most awards are available. These awards can be submitted online or mailed in on the correct application form.
