Camping reservations and bungalow rentals will be part of the camporee registration.  As in the past, the primary focus for these accommodations will be Camping Omaha Beach. Cub Scout families and others with limited camping experience should consider bungalow rental or other accommodations such as Airbnb or any of the many hotels in the area.

Program for the weekend will include a campfire on Omaha Beach, including ceremonies for top achiever Scouts and Cubs. Other highlights are our own radio-station, a food truck rally on Saturday evening and of course the Trading Post: opportunities to not only buy memorabilia related tot he weekend, but also to try on a new Scout uniform shirt. The closing ceremony for the Camporee will be held on Sunday morning at the American Cemetery at Colleville sure Mer where Scouts will have the opportunity to lay commemorative wreaths as well as individual flowers at a grave of their choosing.

During the Camporee, participants are encouraged to tour the historic D-Day Beaches of Juno, Sword, Omaha, Gold, and Utah and their memorials, as well as the numerous historical sites and museums and surrounding the area. One of the objectives of the Camporee planning committee is to ensure units have time to make their own schedule to visit the sites of the D-Day landings. Of course, this will mean that you have to make some choices, as it is impossible to see it all in one weekend! To help you out though, extended stay accommodations will also be offered.

A variety of special activities are being planned, as well as our Normandy app to help guide your weekend experience. Stay tuned for more updates!
