Join the Transatlantic Contingent

Transatlantic Council has confirmed (and filled) two troops (36 scouts & 4 adults each) and one crew (8 scouts and 2 adults) for the contingent already.  We are still taking registrations for a waiting list and will look to place scouts on the waiting list with other councils if necessary.   You can sign up now at: www.bsajamboree.org. The Jamboree is a once in a lifetime experience.  The fee for Transatlantic Council participants is $1500.  This does not include your airfare which to be arranged by each scout's family to an East Coast US gateway city (to be determined) or to the Pre-Jamboree Shakedown (see the Meeting Schedule below).  The whole contingent will travel together for a few days before the Jamboree to visit some historical and fun sites as we make our way from our rally point to the Summit.  This pre-jamboree tour, as well as all the pre-jamboree training, is included in the council fee.  You can sign up at the official BSA website: www.bsajamboree.org.

You do not have to be in Transatlantic Council in the summer of 2013 to sign up, if you move in the meantime, we can still bring you with us.  Don't miss out on this great opportunity!!!

We need your info!

The Scoutmaster team wants to leanr more about our scouts. To do this we have two forms; one about your interests generally and one about your leadership interests.

All Scouts and Venturers need to complete an Interest Form. The form is short and can be found here. Please return to Mr. Cass at john.l.cass@googlemail.com no later than January 30th, 2012.

Scouts and Venturers interested in serving as a Jamboree Troop or Crew Youth Leader must submit a letter of interest or complete and return A leadership survey form. Letters or forms should be returned to Mr. Cass at john.l.cass@googlemail.com no later than January 30th, 2012. The leadership survey form can be found here.

Patch Sales are OPEN!

Look out for the brand new 2013 National Scout Jamboree patch set for the Transatlantic Council contingent.  They are available to order via the Transatlantic Council scout shop using our on-line form.  Help support our scouts by purchasing a piece of first Jamboree at the Summit.  It's going to be the biggest, wildest, most high adventure Jamboree yet!

You can check out our wonderful patches on our patches page. Please note that the patch set includes the four trading Jamboree Shoulder Patches and the Center patch. The Jamboree Lodge Flap is sold separately.

Contingent members and Staffers coming from Transatlantic Council should also look out for a discounted rate for purchasing patches which will be available in mid March 2013, with a view to distributing patches to contingent members at the June 2013 Shakedown meeting.

Meeting Schedule

The Jamboree is a very busy two weeks and it takes a lot of planning to ensure everyone is ready. As part of that the contingent will meet several times in the run up to the 2013 National Scout Jamboree. Each meeting is HIGHLY RECOMMENDED so plan your attendance now.  However, attendance at a Pre-Jamboree Shakedown weekend is a requirement set by BSA in order to attend the National Jamboree so ALL scouts need to attend either this weekend (14-16 June 2013) or an equivalent in another BSA Council.  If you have an issue with your attendance, please contact Mr John Cass, the contingent coordinator, as soon as possible so alternative arrangements can be made.

We will also have monthly webinars on the first Thursday of each month starting in January 2013 to provide updates and answer questions.

Pre Jamboree Shakedown Weekend

All Scouts and Venturers in the contingent must attend. This is our final shakedown and so plan on bringing your whole Jamboree equipment and proper uniforms with you. More details will follow in the other meetings and contingent webinars.
