Scoutbook.com. The whole Scouting experience rolled into one great web app.
Update Sept 5, 2018:
Scoutbook Subscriptions will be free starting January 1, 2019.
With Scoutbook, you can track your Scouts progress from the first knot learned in Tiger, all the way to finalizing his Eagle Scout project. Forget the hassle of trying to keep up with old binders full of logged paperwork; Scoutbook does this for you. Simply input the Scouting task completed and all documentation is automatically saved. Scoutbook can even capture images and video at the time of completion to be added along with the certificate of completion. The memory of achievement will always be with your family thanks to Scoutbook!
Before Scoutbook, leaders were spending much of their volunteering time trying to keep track and report back to parents on their child’s progress in Scouting. Now, from anywhere at any time, parents have the ability to log on and see exactly where their child’s progress is. This gives Leaders the thing they need the most: TIME WITH SCOUTS.
Achieving something is FUN! Scouts should have the ability to share that excitement with all. Thanks to Scoutbook, they now can. From any mobile device or computer, Scouts can now share via social media or with their fellow Scoutbook friends their achievements in Scouting.
What Is Scoutbook?
Scoutbook is a Scout’s “Advancement Book in the Cloud” – It connects Scouts, Scouters and other leaders. With Scoutbook, you can discover the latest Boy Scouts of America (BSA) news, thousands of Scouting videos, all the Cub Scout and Boy Scout references and much more right at your finger tips. Track your Scout’s advancement as they advance from Tiger all the way to Eagle Scout and beyond with this advancement tracking web app.
Like an “App,” but better! Scoutbook’s mobile site works on all mobile and tablet platforms like iPhone, iPad, Android, Blackberry and others. Unlike traditional apps that need to be installed and usually cost money, Scoutbook provides a FREE Scouting reference that is updated on the fly and never requires you to download patches or updates.
TAC Interface with Scoutbook
In a unanimous decision, The Transatlantic Council Executive Board has elected to provide a Promotion Code for a subscription to Scoutbook.com for each and every unit in the Council, good through May 31, 2019! Your unit’s Committee Chairman should have received their promotion code from our Advancement Team in their email. Once registered with your promotion code for Scoutbook, units will need to activate Youth Advancement Sync. For more information and instructions on how to activate the Scoutbook Youth Advancement Sync, see this page: http://bit.ly/syncadv.
The Scoutbook Database is becoming the database of record for all advancements in the BSA. Effective June 1, 2018, all unit advancement reporting for the Transatlantic Council should be done through Scoutbook. This change eliminates the necessity of logging into Internet Advancement and uploading an advancement file. Moreover, Advancement Sync is an important step to be sure that TAC receives the data from Scoutbook (if the advancement has been recorded and approved by unit leaders in Scoutbook, and the Scout is synced, then the record is officially recorded with the BSA).
Additionally, all certificates and awards are now a part of the Program Supply Center, and only units that are synced through Scoutbook will be able to purchase advancement certificates and awards after January 1, 2019. Units who are not reporting advancement (ie. not using Scoutbook) will not be able to make purchases of advancement related items as of January 1, 2019.
